A Notable Trip

My Trip to Massachusetts by Georgia Jenkins, member of The Purple Cowboys Marketing Group AKA 997 Make Money Now and OG Healthy Coffee.

For the past year I have been intensely involved with the above groups -- learning more about marketing and the attributes of gano lucidem- the active component of "healthier" coffee.

Who was I visiting ? A young couple who were an integral part of my church for about four years and also helped me with yard work, carpentry and some other challenges. They had been away for a year and I missed them very much. They had planned to see me over the Holidays, but with one's parents in Canada and the other in Arizona , the time somehow disappeared.

Then came may of 2009 and a specific invitation to join them over Mother's Day weekend -- when they would not be travelling elsewhere..
I was thrilled, and found plane tickets for $229 round trip -- a savings of about $300 from their expenses a year ago! I leapt into action! This was a great deal. Being in business, and without a lap top computer there were questions about the wisdom of this trip, but it sure felt good to see them again. Our group has conference calls on 3 days of the week, and they were gracious enough to let me use their house phone so I could avoid roving charges on cell phone. That way I learned of a new program they were adding - called UBIEE SEO Pro, and a suggested "daily mode of operations" for home business people.

I started this chronicle on Sunday, May 10,2009 when relaxing in their living room. My host was teaching a college and career class and his wife was preparing a French lesson for teaching at their local Christian school. Monday -- using the computer.
---------
He was not too enthralled with the online idea of home business, but his wife is active in Creative Memories and helped me prepare a short synopsis of my life in 2008 in pictures.

Sequences:
Friday may 8th I left Freeport,IL early in the morning, drove to Rockford where I almost missed the VanGalder bus by trying to save $6 a day in different parking place. Ended up at Clock Tower Inn as my usual pattern on trips.
I flew out on American Airlines to Stanford Connecticut airport. Was picked up at airport and treated to lunch at a nice family diner.
Before arriving at their home, we visited the school where Karine teaches French. We had a cookout dinner there.

Saturday we took a drive to Deerfield,MA where we toured Yankee Candle Co. and I bought several items before having a delightful rocelette ( grilled) dinner back in Westfield.

Sunday, after services at Westfield Evangelical Free Church we dined out at Friendly's Restaurant where I enjoyed a tasty chicken-cheese-fresh vegetables dinner. We then took a walk around their neighborhood, accompanied by their golden retriever. It was good relaxing and taking a break from heavy computer usage, though I felt a bit guilty not "keeping up with business". There was a storm Saturday night, so opted against going to scenic park near them.Georgia Jenkins didn't mind not walking in mud!

Already I missed my dogs, Giggles and Danielle - which I left in the care of a friend. They're much smaller than John & Karine's Buddy, but not as well trained!

Fortunately they have allowed me use of their phone for scheduled Friday and Saturday night conference calls with Purple Cowboy Marketing. I had hopes of getting them on speaker phone for our Monday night call. Goal did not materialize.

---Continued Monday night 5-11-09 --

I had breakfast with Karine after John left for a breakfast meeting. then entertained myself with playing Karine's new piano, getting old messages off my cell phone and reading.

After they returned home from work we did get to Spencer Park near them. The ground was still wet, but all enjoyed the scenery. Georgia took pictures of scenery and a frisbee game with Buddy.

Then came a delicious dinner of shishkabobs with chicken, green pepper & mushrooms.
To wear off some of calories we played frisbee catch-keep away from dog. when dusk came, we played one game of Clue -- new to me -- before I got on the Purple Cowboy marketing call.
This call focussed on how we promote our 997 Make Money Now link to new people , and the opportunity to build an Attraction Marketing web page. We also directed them to the check list page which recommends sequence of activities.

Tuesday morning I confirmed my plane ticket for Wednesday Am with United. it took a while to get beyond the automated messages!

I helped Karine minimally by doing some dusting, and watched a TV program on foods till subject of astrology - which I abhor - was brought up. John was home briefly for lunch-- mid conference call with OG Healthier Coffee -- another business associated with PCM. It has great products including tea and hot chocolate. Active ingredient is gano lucidum which boosts energy level and the immune system.

In an article I read in 'Women's Day' , by Barbara Rash, I picked up this quote: "(good business attitude is ) "not being afraid to move forward can help propel you to that nest happier stage of your life". Perhaps this can get up beyond the phase of "paralysis analysis" so
common when we face new challenges.

Current events addenda : 38 degrees this AM, gas taxes take huge increase locally. Postage to .44 for first class letter..
Karine finished their school's yearbook on computer and with help of CM software.

After a short shopping expedition with Karine we arrived at their home, we found John burning branches that had fallen down in wind storm.
A grilled beef supper was enjoyed by all, and another frisbee plus dog encounter.

Georgia regrettably finished packing, and after a pancake breakfast arrived at airport by 9 am for return to Illinois.

It is always a challenge to find right lane for VanGalder bus return to Freeport from OHare.
That Wednesday was a rainy day -- so quite a relief to get home safely!

Recommendation by Georgia Jenkins :

Focus on your business most of time, but when you have a once in year opportunity to join good friends, "go for it".
